When you make an important investment in your home - like installing a new roof, you should understand the warranty protection that comes with it. In addition to any warranty that may be provided by your contractor for the labor and installation of the roof, Owens Corning provides you with a Limited Warranty on the shingles.

In addition to the automatic Limited Shingle Warranty coverage you get when installing our shingles, we now offer a new "system" warranty called the Roofing System Advantage™ Warranty. Upon meeting the eligibility for this new warranty, you get several added benefits, including an extended upfront NON-prorated period of coverage. However, you must register for the Roofing System Advantage Warranty - coverage is not automatic.

Owens Corning wants to ensure that you fully understand our Limited Shingle Warranty, and if applicable to your roof, our new Roofing System Advantage Warranty.

Standard Limited Shingle Warranty

1. Coverage begins automatically upon completion of the installation of the shingles.

2. The Warranty covers any manufacturing defects that affect shingle performance.

3. Defective shingles will be repaired or replaced, including labor (excluding metal work, flashings, tear-off, or disposal costs), at Owens Corning's cost.

4. After the first year of the Warranty Period, the amount of the cost to be paid by Owens Corning will be prorated based upon the number of months which have elapsed in the warranty period. That is, the cost covered by the Warranty will be reduced according to the following forumula:

5. No registration of the Warranty is required, but proof of purchase will be required at the time any claim is made.....

6. The Warranty is not transferable to subsequent purchasers of your home.

Roofing System Advantage™ Limited Warranty

1. To be eligible for the System Advantage Warranty:

a. An entire Owens Corning Roofing System (including Owens Corning Shingles, hip & ridge product, VentSure® ridge vent, felt underlayment and WeatherLock™ self-adhesive waterproofing underlayment) must be installed;

b. Your roof must be smaller than 100 roofing squares (i.e., 10,000 square feet of surface area) typical houses are 20 - 30 roofing squares; and

c. You must complete and send in a registration card along with a $50.00 Registration Fee.

2. All System Components are covered by the System Advantage Warranty. Any Components which prove to be defective during the warranty period will be repaired or replaced, including labor (excluding metal work, flashings, tear-off or disposal costs), at Owens Corning's cost.

3. Although the System Advantage Warranty is also prorated, its Non-prorated period has been significantly extended beyond the one-year period of the Standard Shingle Warranty to the period set forth below:
